Adewale OYENUGA, an indigene of Ijagun in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, was born in Abeokuta on 20th March 1963. He has been the MD / CEO of Evans Therapeutics Ltd, a leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria, since 2010. Though a pharmacist by training, he is an accomplished Business Manager with extensive experience in Sales & Marketing Management, Corporate Finance and Strategy, Human Capital Development, International Trade, as well as Public Policy & Administration. He also has diverse interest across the Nigerian Economic sectors; serving on the Board of Wragby Business Solutions & Technologies Ltd (a thriving ICT Organization) and the Sole Promoter of Existencia Farms Odogbolu (a 50 Hectare Oil Palm Plantation), amongst others.
Education & Professional Recognition
He studied Pharmacy and Business Management at three different Nigerian Universities earning B. Pharm from UNILAG in 1985; PGDM from Bayero University in 1993; and MBA from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, in 1999. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, Cranfield University School of Management United Kingdom and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. He was a member of the Senior Executive Course 44 2022 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria as well as the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy.
Career & Pharmacy Leadership
He commenced his career at Glaxo Nigeria PLC as Medical Representative in 1989 and as a result of his Star Performance, he earned himself a fast-track elevation to Managerial and Senior Executive Positions in the company and also at Glaxo Wellcome Nigeria Limited and GlaxoSmithkline Pharma West Africa before joining Evans Therapeutics Ltd in 2004. As a committed Pharmacist, he has dedicated a significant part of his career to the development and growth of the Pharmacy profession through participation in policy formulation, formation & development of industry groups and also through provision of training, coaching & mentoring for younger pharmacists. Several of those who benefited from his coaching & mentoring roles are now Directors & Senior Executives in the Pharma Industry today. He was part of the conceptualization the formation of NIROPHARM, PIPAN (Pharma Industry Practitioners Association of Nigeria) and The Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy. He was also a member of the PSN Strategy Committee that developed the Roadmap for Vision-2050 In recognition of these contributions, he has received many awards and commendations across most of the technical groups of the Profession.
Pharm Adewale is married to Mrs Olayide Oyenuga, a Chartered Insurer and the union is blessed with three children. His hobbies include jogging, travelling, nature exploration and farming.
